Three Rooms, Three Moods

When I started, these rooms told a very different story,  ten layers of wallpaper built up over the decades, wall-to-wall carpet on top of linoleum covering original hardwood floors, and very little lighting. It was stripped back to a blank canvas, each one became a chance to build a single mood from the ground up.

The first room turns up the richness, deep hunter-green walls, a moody tartan, and a classic equestrian painting give the room a warm, clubby confidence, grounded by natural wood and brass that keep it from feeling too serious.

 

The second room leans into glamour: warm taupe-gray walls, layers of silk and velvet in neutrals with a pop of orange, nailhead-trimmed upholstery, and a crystal chandelier that completes the room.

The third room, soft dusty-blue walls set a quiet, restful tone, with a graceful canopy bed by the fire, and an antique folding screen adding a sense of history without ever feeling heavy.

 

What ties them together isn't a palette, it's an approach. Each room starts with a feeling and builds outward through color, pattern, and texture, mixing antique and modern until the space feels collected over years rather than decorated in an afternoon. Different rooms, different personalities, the same goal: a space that wraps around you and makes rest feel like the luxury it is.
